Apocalypse Now Regains Top Spot
Francis Ford Coppola’s Apocalypse Now has returned to the top spot in the list of most talked about classic movies. It takes back the top spot from the 1952 Hollywood musical Singin’ in the Rain, which overtook Apocalypse some weeks ago, but now seems to be fading in the buzz.
In other news related to the list of most talked about classic movies, Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai has started to drop in the rankings now that it has been almost a month since Criterion released their new and superb version of the classic movie. The samurais now hold the 7th place in the rankings.
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back has also dropped one place, with the 1969 road movie Easy Rider taking its spot in the top ten. Meanwhile, Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner is slowly climbing up the rankings, currently finding itself 14th, and no doubt breaking into the top 10 once the new “Final Cut” of the film is released both theatrically and on DVD next year.
